Storyline of Who Made Me A Princess Fantasy Manhwa
“There was never a day I considered you my daughter.” Claude’s statement pierced right through Athanasia, who was begging her father for his love.
FL suddenly remembered this scene from a tacky novel, “Lovely Princess,” she read in her past life. She realized that she had been isekaied into this novel when she connected the dots; her name was the same as the side character who was executed by her father, Emperor Claude.
Athanasia, reborn as a baby princess, is neglected by the maids only because her father doesn’t visit her even once. From the maids’ gossip, she came to know a few things about her existence.
First, her mother was a dancer from another empire. She caught the emperor’s attention and died after her birth.
Secondly, her father is a tyrant who killed everyone in the emperor’s harem palace, Ruby Palace, on the day she was born. Since then, he has ignored her only child.
To escape her destined tragic death, Athanasia has decided to grow healthy and strong. Once she’s old enough to live on her own, she’ll steal the gold and shiny things from the palace, she’ll run away and live happily ever after.
Even though her father never visited her, Lilith, her nanny, makes sure she recognises him. The hero of the Obelian Empire, who killed the devil-worshipping emperor before him, Claude de Alger Obelia.
The original Athanasia met her father when she was nine years old. Despite Claude’s indifference, driven by a longing for parental love, she dedicated herself to developing both her skills and beauty. However, her hard work was overshadowed by the bright and cheerful Jennette, the novel’s female lead and Claude’s daughter from his ex-fiancée.
The unfortunate princess, Athanasia, is killed by her own father under the false accusation of poisoning Jennette, whom she helped acclimate to royal life.
To present, infant Athanasia is now five years old.
Little Athy has earned the trust of the palace maids with her cuteness. Meanwhile also collecting her treasure for her escape.
While searching for a safe place to hide her treasure, she found an empty palace. Best hideout.
One day, while transferring bags number 7 and 8 to her hideout, she unexpectedly ran into the person she had been trying to avoid: Emperor Claude.
“You’re heavier than I expected.” Despite having ignored Athy for so long, he now seemed to show some interest in her.
Athy felt a chill run down her spine, much like a small rabbit caught in the gaze of a fierce predator. Cluade stood before her, a towering figure, as she nervously crossed onto his property.
In a moment of desperation, thrust into a perilous situation, she summoned every ounce of courage she had gathered over her short five years. With a shaky voice, she called him “Papa.”
Then, a startling turn of events unfolded—a notice arrived at Ruby Palace announcing that the Emperor would pay a visit to the princess once again in just a few days!
Even though she failed in “Plan A: Never get noticed by the emperor”, she didn’t lose hope.
To overcome the consequences, Athy came up with another plan, Plan C: “Play cute to win with Claude’s heart.”
The next day, Athy and her nanny, Lily, visited the Emperor’s palace. With trembling hands, Athy forced herself to follow the proper etiquette for meeting the Emperor.
While her mind raced, searching for a way to escape the spotlight, Claude announced the legitimacy of her status. Athanasia was now to be treated as a true princess should be.
For the next few visits, Athy showed her affectionate side so that he would spare her life.
Then came a day when she decided to drop Plan C and run off as soon as possible. That day, Claude took her on a boat ride.
Between the lake, sparkling in the sunlight, she found an enchanting, transparent lotus. In an attempt to get one for herself, she stretched outside the boat.
A little more… Just a little more… splash.
Athy somehow struggled to come to the surface and looked towards her cold-hearted father for help.
He sat with his hands on his chin, observing her without any emotion. After saving her, he ordered swimming lessons for her, as it would be embarrassing if the emperor’s daughter were to die by drowning.
She believed that his father was emotionless, but the truth goes beyond this. There’s a part that wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the novel, not even in the spinoff.
Unfortunately, she witnessed this on the day she coughed up blood during tea time with Claude.
My Thoughts
The Who Made Me a Princess manhwa has many colors in it. Strength, Parental love, romance, Power, Comedy, Sacrifice, magic. You name it and it has it all.
The factor that always brightens my mood is bravery. Our Athy is not like an average princess who is just crushing over a handsome boy.
She possesses the charm of a leader, the innocence of a child, and the aura of royalty.
Besides her, other characters fill their role very well. The storyline is so powerful that every chapter has the power to push you towards the next one until you reach the last.
Well, there is one more thing that sets this fantasy manhwa apart is that our female lead’s love life remains open for viewers to imagine, even with two incredibly handsome male leads.
Athy’s parents’ story also has beautiful aspects. Claude and Diana deserve an entire series of their own.
Additionally, there are side stories of this novel available on the internet. Due to its popularity, there are also many fanfictions and beautifully crafted fan art that showcase the beauty of each character.
