The Witch Kdrama Ep 5 & 6 Explained

The mystery romance drama ‘ The Witch’, is updated with new episodes. Last week, in episodes 3 and 4, the show ended as our male lead determined to get Mi Jung’s life back on track. To do this he retraced his steps and investigation back to his village, Taebak.

Known for his unique mystery plot lines, Kang Pool is the artist behind many successful books, webtoons, and movies. As the weeks pass, we’re nearing the show’s climax, and the interesting part is that our main leads have not met. Can you believe it? They are just revolving around each other but haven’t met yet.

I have not read the webcomic, so the anxiety is getting higher every day.

Our lover boy is retracing his steps to find data and clues to end the curse. Arriving at the village his first destination to collect data is the real-estate office. With his flattery, he successfully obtains data on the deaths that have occurred near Park Mi Jung’s house for around two decades.

The Witch

This led to his next destination. The guy that was attacked by a wild boar as he returned from her house. He wrote down the time and distance when that guy was attacked. Later he gathered with his school friends and brought up Mi Jung’s topic.

Just like his friends, even I could witness that his will to solve her case was stronger than just a passing thought. He asked for their help to gather data. Luckily he found someone in his peers who was working at their school.

She was the same girl who had started rumors about Mi Jung being a witch, now regretting her actions. She guided Dong Jin to the school’s storage room and thus started hunting for data. Big Data.

Our clumsy protagonist left no corner unturned. He extracted every possible data from that storehouse. For those unfamiliar with data, math, or science, it’s fascinating to uncover such results from an old, dusty room. Interesting!

Moved by his resolve, his friends introduced him to all those people affected by Mi Jung’s presence. This included both slightly and heavily injured. This guy worked really hard to collect data without shaving his face for weeks. This genius punk!

He meets with the church guy, Im Ik Jong (Joo Jong-hyuk), Mi Jung’s first love. Returning to the city, he interviewed the subway guy. It turned out that he worked at a movie theatre where she would watch movies alone at night.

From his analysis, he made a few hypotheses. The Laws of Death. One of them was, “Being in space within 10 meters of her is dangerous.” He measured the distance between his window and her wall. It was less than 10 meters.

The episode ended when a law proved its truth. When Mi Jung came out for a walk, and the distance between them became less than 10 meters, he got hurt.

The previous episode focused on Lee Dong Jin’s actions. The next episode shows Park Mi Jung’s life after leaving the village.

The episode opens with a bright scene of Mi Jung doing farming. Even though the lighting was shining for this scene, it looked dark and sad. Because of Mi Jung’s expression, even her smile displayed her sadness and solitude.

This time our Dong Jin approached Heo Eun Shil, Mi Jung’s friend. Just like everyone, he explained his determination and findings to her.

Just like us, she was also taken aback by the hypotheses and research. Unlike others, these two shared the same good intention to make Mi Jung’s life better. She agreed to share what she knew with him.

In her college, she tried to be as dull as possible to not attract attention. And that caught her eye. She felt a connection with her even though they met for the first time.

Mi Jung also met her first love, Ik Jong, but that guy turned out to be a jerk. Once, he was head over heels for her, now didn’t even have a proper talk with her.

But her charm didn’t go unnoticed by the guys at her college. One guy from her class crushed over her, and Eun Shil kept an eye on him.

At the end of the semester, that guy fell down the stairs after getting rejected by her. This brought back bitter memories for her, and she ran from there.

Yet again, rumors about her being the witch found its place around her. During her exams, a professor confessed to her. To avoid any more accidents, she pretended not to read that and left the exam hall.

But this damn curse followed her even there. That professor fell from the window while staring at Mi Jung.

At that time, Eun Shil protected Mi Jung in her embrace from that view. But it didn’t stop others from believing in the rumors. She withdrew from college and lived in a secluded place that was soon to be redeveloped.

Yet again, Eun Sil came looking for her. Though she couldn’t change Park Mi Jung’s mind about leaving that place, she gave her number in case of an emergency.

And it happened. Mi Jung called her because of an emergency, and she took her away from that remote area. Eun Shil was the one who arranged the rooftop flat for her. Since then, she has supported her.

Back to reality, Dong Jin is back on his track to interview people and take on data needed for his study.

Data and information based on vague memory were ready; now was the time to check the hypotheses. Dong Jin decided to become the bait. He applied to deliver groceries at her home by the nearby supermarket.

After six episodes of waiting, we get to see Dong Jin and Mi Jung’s first meeting.
