My friend recently binged Love Next Door and was hooked by this Kdrama. She asked me for some recommendations in the same genre. She’s the kind of girl who loves melodrama and romance more than action and comedy. So, I made a list for her.

Once she regains her memories, her first resolution is to meet Seoha. Join her on her journey to meet the unreachable Moon Seoha and explore her love life with the guy. The drama is adapted from the webtoon of the same name. With an enchanting cast and a beautiful plotline, this drama is a good start that won’t make you cry but will make you swing.

5. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
An action-fantasy rom-com drama, tells the story of Do Bong Soon from Do-bong dong. She has a hierarchical super strength power, that has passed down to women of her family from generations.
Witness how she takes control of her power with the help of a self-made millionaire, Ahn Min Hyuk. She realizes her power and uses it to protect her friends, family, and neighborhood from a serial killer.
The KDrama will make you fall in love with the Min-Min and Bong-Bong couple. The cuteness they bring to the show will make you want to see more of them, and this will take you to another drama of the series, Strong Girl Nam-soon, where this couple has made a cameo entry. I would surely recommend the Strong Woman Do Bong Soon drama if you want to laugh and melt your heart.
4. Angel’s Last Mission: Love
Do you believe in angels? In this world, angels do exist. Dan, an optimistic angel, got a mission from God. He needs to find true love for Lee Yeon-Seo, a successful ballerina, to return to heaven.
In an unfortunate accident, she loses her sight and ability to walk, let alone dance. This incident left a bittersweet angst in her, which comes out as abusive treatment towards her staff and loyal secretary.
They both have a sour beginning and a sweet end. If you are into sad plot like sacrifices and melodrama, I’m sure you will love this story and cry along with the characters.
3. Our Beloved Summer
Our Beloved Summer is a cute, hearty rom-com KDrama. Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-Soo were frenemies 10 years ago. Poles apart from each other. One is a proper topper and the other an artistic backbencher.
The documentary that brought them together has now resurfaced and gone viral a decade later. They are brought together for yet another documentary by their producer friend when they vowed never to meet each other again after their last and final breakup.
The drama shows the characters’ mental and emotional growth as they embrace their shortcomings and accept their hidden deficiencies. This drama will make you laugh a lot, and the small details will raise your love benchmark higher.
2. My Demon
A devil is referred to as a being that senses your misery and trades it for your success. And when the time comes, he’ll return to take your soul. Jeong Gu-Won is a devil who has lived for two centuries, helping the greedy. After a decade of promises, he returns to claim their souls for hell.
He meets a successful, devilish entrepreneur, Do Do Hee, who somehow becomes key to his missing powers. She brings back his forgotten past. His story has now become history, but he’s unaware of this.
Amid this love-hate relationship, they enter into a contract marriage and understand each other deeply. This story has all possible plots for a Kdrama. The story is much more enjoyable due to the beautiful visuals. The chemistry between Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung has electrified the stage. There’s one crazy killer, suspense, redemption, intense and heart-tingling romance, action and tears. In short, a complete entertainment package.
1. W: Two Worlds
Oh Yeon-Joo, a resident cardiothoracic surgeon at Myung-sei Hospital, is the daughter of Oh Seong Moo, the creator of the webtoon “W.” After her father mysteriously disappears, she investigates his studio. There, a portal pulls her onto a rooftop, where she finds an injured man resembling Kang Cheol, the webtoon’s protagonist. As a doctor, she feels compelled to save him before suddenly returning to her world.
After conducting a bit more investigation, she discovered that the injured person didn’t just resemble Kang Cheol; he was, in fact, Kang Cheol. Throughout the plot, she becomes increasingly immersed in the story, and the webcomic updates in real time based on her actions in that alternate universe.
This multiverse story will show you some good action scenes. I enjoyed Lee Jong Suk (the actor who played Kang Cheol) in the action sequence, and this drama serves the visual. Apart from the story and romance, there are many things one can learn from this drama.
